While maintaining the lyrical intensity, deep brooding vocals, and eclectic mix of styles that the band has come to be known for, it has a decidedly New Orleans influence garnered from multiple tours throughout Louisiana. The album was recorded and engineered by Justin Douglas at King Electric studios and mixed by John Potoker here in Austin. It was mastered in Nashville at True East by Alex McCollough. The new album features the core band of Charlie Pierce (keys,vocals), Leland Potter (drums), Wil Landin (tuba, bass), Jeffrey Barnes (clarinet, saxophone), and Spencer Jarmon (guitar). In addition, Michael St. Clair (trombone), Derek Phelps (trumpet), Kullen Fuchs (trumpet), and Zach Varner (clarinet, saxophone) round out the horn section.
